ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the effect of immune function on the condition and prognosis of asthma in children with asthma. Methods A total of 148 children with asthma diagnosed in Qinghai women and children's Hospital from January 2018 to January 2021 were included in the analysis, the immune function of the children was determined, and the information of all children was followed up for 6 months after treatment; compared The condition and follow-up prognosis of children with immunocompromised and normal immune function were analyzed and discussed, and the correlation between the expression levels of immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, IgM) and the condition and short-term recurrence prognosis (6 months) of children was analyzed and discussed, so as to guide Prevention and clinical work. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS19.0. Results The average age of 148 children with recurrent respiratory tract infection in the study was (8.94±3.65) years old, including 70 male children. The condition of the children was evaluated and classified into mild/severe cases: 148 children in this study included mild cases. There were 98 cases and 50 severe cases. There were more males and lower BMI levels in severe children (P<0.05) . The levels of IgG, IgA and IgM in children were all lower in severe children (P<0.05) . The follow-up found that the proportion of relapses in critically ill children was higher (P<0.05). Comparing the levels of IgG, IgA, and IgM in mild and severe children, the average levels of IgG, IgA, and IgM in severe children were lower than those in the mild group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); recurrence within 6 months of follow-up Prognostic evaluation showed that 19 of the 148 children had relapse, and the levels of IgG, IgA, and IgM in severe relapsed children were significantly lower than those without relapse (P<0.05). Analysis of the relevant factors potentially affecting the prognosis of recurrence showed that gender (female) (OR=1.726) , BMI level (weight loss) (OR=1.613) , IgG expression level factor (low expression) (OR=1.898) , IgA expression Level factor (low expression) (OR=3.509) , IgM expression level factor (low expression) (OR=3.217) and disease factor (severe) (OR=3.619) were potential risk factors, which would increase the risk of poor prognosis. Conclusion The asthma attack in children with immunocompromised immune function is relatively severe, and the short-term recurrence probability is higher, which deserves clinical attention and preventive intervention.

ABSTRACT

Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum, as a traditional Chinese medicine, has great potential for development. However, the identification and quality control system is not perfect, leading to the market chaos and chronic slow growth in deep processing of Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum. This paper gives an overview of present situation in identification and quality control system of the Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum, and analyzes present problems. Based on these results, the feasibility study scheme in identification and quality control system for Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum would be then put forward, providing ideas to establish its comprehensive evaluation system.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the inhibitory effect of Liuwei Dihuang Pill (LDP) on erythrocyte aldose reductase (EAR) activity in early diabetic nephropathy (DN) patients and to explore the clinical significance of applying LDP in prevention and treatment of DN as an inhibitor of aldose reductase.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Seventy-two patients diagnosed as early DN with TCM Syndrome of both Qi-yin deficiency were randomly divided into the control group (31 patients) treated by conventional therapy (orally taken Gliquidone or injection of insulin) and the treated group (41 patients) treated by conventional therapy plus LDP for 3 months as one therapeutic course. Changes of symptoms, physical signs, fasting blood glucose (FBG), blood glucose 2 hrs post breakfast (2hPBG), blood total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), EAR activity, urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER), blood and urinary beta2-microglobulin (beta2-MG) in patients before and after treatment were observed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>LDP could improve the symptoms and signs of patients with DN, it could significantly inhibit EAR activity, to make it significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05), and the levels of UAER, beta2-MG in blood and urine in the treated group after treatment were obviously lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and LDP showed no apparent effect on blood glucose, lipids and mean arterial pressure (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>LDP could obviously inhibit the activity of EAR in patients with early DN, improve various indexes of DN, so as to be helpful for its treatment.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>AIM</b>To study the effect of ginkgolide B from Ginkgo leave on action potential (AP), L-type calcium current (I(Ca) - L) and delayed rectifier potassium current (I(K)) in normal and ischemic guinea pig ventricular myocytes.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>With the standard microelectrode technique to record action potential and whole-cell variant patch-clamp technique to record calcium and potassium current.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>(1) Under normal condition, ginkgolide B shortened APD and had no effect on RP, AP and V(max). Ginkgolide B also increased I(K) in a concentration dependent manner and had no significant effect on I(Ca) - L (2) Under ischemia condition, it was observed that shortening of APD, APA, decrease V(max) and depolarization of RP was induced by ischemia, but ginkgolide B could attenuate above--mentioned changes. (3) Under ischemia condition, I(Ca) - L and I(K) were inhibited, perfusion with ischemia solution containing ginkgolide B could reverse the decrease of I(Ca) - L and I(K).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Ginkgolide B had protective effect on ischemic myocardium to prevent ischemic arrhythmia.</p>

ABSTRACT

With whole-cell variant patch-clamp and laser scanning confocal microscope technique, we examined the effect of ginkgolide B (GB) from ginkgo leaves on L-type calcium current and cytosolic [Ca(2+)](i) in guinea pig ischemic ventricular myocytes. The results showed that under normal conditions, at a test voltage of 0 mV, GB had no significant effect on I(Ca,L); and during ischemia, the peak Ca(2+) current reduced by 37.71%, and the I-V curve of I(Ca,L) was shifted upward. 1 micromol/L GB reversed the change induced by ischemia, a result being significantly different from those of the ishemia group (P<0.05).Under control condition, 0.1,1,10 micromol/L GB decreased intracellular calcium concentration by 10.58%, 17.27% and 16.35% (n=12, 12, 10, P<0.01-0.001), respectively. With perfusion of ischemic solution for 12 min, intracellular calcium concentration increased by 20.15%. After a 12 min-perfusion of ischemic solution containing 1 micromol/L nifedipine or 5 mmol/L NiCl2, intracellular calcium concentration increased by 18.18% (P>0.05 vs ischemia) and 11% (P<0.05 vs ischemia), respectively. After 12 min of perfusion with ischemic solution containing 1 micromol/L GB, intracellular calcium concentration increased by 9.6% (P<0.05 vs ischemia). It is shown that GB could reverse the decrease of I(Ca,L) and partially inhibit calcium overload during ischemia.
